WHAT IS WIRE GAUGE?

Wire gauge is a measurement of wire diameter (more specifically its wire cross-section). This determines that amount of electric current a wire can safely carry, as well as its electrical resistance and weight.  All Walkntalk products have 24 - 28 wire gauge which results in high quality.

WHAT IS MFI CERTIFICATION?

Apple Inc.'s MFi Program, referring to "Made for iPhone/iPod/iPad", is a licensing program for developers of hardware and software peripherals that work with Apple's iPod, iPad and iPhone. The name is a shortened version of the long-form Made for iPod, the original program that ultimately became MFi.

The MFi program covers various device connectors including the headphone jack, the original dock connector and the newer Lightning connector, as well as AirPlay support. Companies joining the MFi program and passing certification tests are able to display certain MFi-related logos on their product packaging, like the "Made for iPod" badge.

Fuse MFi products all go through Apple's strict auditing processes to ensure only the highest quality products are manufactured.

WHAT IS BLUETOOTH?

Bluetooth is a wireless technology standard for exchanging data over short distances (using short-wavelength UHF radio wave in the ISM band from 2.4 to 2.485 GHz) From fixed and mobile devices and building personal area networks (PANs). If two devices want to talk, they pick a channel randomly and, if that's already taken, randomly switch to one of the others (a technique is known as spread-spectrum frequency hopping). To minimize the risks of interference from other electrical appliances (and also to improve security), pairs of devices constantly shift the frequency they're using—thousands of times a second.

WHAT IS A MAH?

A milliampere-hour (mAh) is 1000th of an ampere-hour (Ah). Both measures are commonly used to describe the energy charge that a battery will hold and how long a device will run before the battery needs recharging.

On average a modern smartphone consumes 2000 mAh for a full battery charge.

WHY WOULD I BUY A 2 AMP CHARGER OVER A 1 AMP CHARGER?

There is an assumption that all chargers are created equal this is not the case. A phone will draw between 1 – 1.3 AMP for a charge where a tablet will require 2 AMP to charge. The device itself dictates to the charger what amount of power it needs to draw. If you only have a 1 AMP charger your tablet will charge but at a very slow rate as it is not getting the power it really needs.

WHAT IS IMPEDANCE?

Impedance is how much power, or voltage, is required for the headphones to function.  The higher the headphones impedance is, the higher the voltage requirement will be, on the other hand, lower impedance headphones require less power.  Our Zero Over-ear has 32 Ohm and requires more power than our Fuse In-ear which has 16 Ohm.

WHAT IS SENSITIVITY?

Sensitivity indicates how much of the electrical signal delivered to the headphones is converted into sound.  Sensitivity is also related to how loud the headphones will go.  Headphones with higher sensitivity will sound louder than those with lower sensitivity.

WHAT IS FREQUENCY?

Frequency response is the range of bass, mids and treble.  Fuse products have a 20 to 20,000 Hz, the first number (20) represents the bass end of the spectrum while the second number (20,000) represents the treble end.  20-20,000 Hz is the standard for most headphones.

WHAT IS A DRIVER SIZE?

Driver relates simply to the size of the speaker in the earpiece of a headphone.  There is no right or wrong with driver size, but usually a bigger driver will drive a more bass driven sound where as a smaller one will have a treble driven sound.

DEVICES (available 2019)

Micro USB connector

Micro USB is a miniaturized version of the Universal Serial Bus (USB) interface developed for connecting compact and mobile devices such as smartphones, MP3 players, GPS devices, photo printers and digital cameras.

Many electronics like wireless headphones, portable speakers, and other gadgets still use Micro-USB to charge.

Many electronics like wireless headphones, portable speakers, and other gadgets still use Micro-USB to charge.

Phone include Samung Galax s7, s7+, j7, Motorola G series, Huawei Honor Series, Sony Xperia, Amazon Kindle, HTC one.

Lightning Connectors

Apple’s proprietary connector for the iPhone, iPad, AirPods, and more. It’s a similar size to USB-C and comes standard on Apple devices released since September 2012. Older Apple devices use the much larger 30-pin proprietary connector.

USB-C Connector

The newest USB standard, this is a reversible cable that promises higher transfer rates and more power than previous USB types. It’s also capable of juggling multiple functions.

USB-C is an emerging standard that has lots of promise. It’s smaller, reversible, and fast. USB-C can both receive and provide a lot more power than previous versions of USB. In fact, Apple’s MacBook line only has a single USB-C port, with the new MacBook Pros packing several-C ports.

Aside from data transfer, USB-C can also power devices, output display to a monitor, and more. Unlike USB-A, cables with USB-C connectors on both ends are standard and allow full utilization of its powers. However, USB-C to USB-A cables are also common, allowing for compatibility with older devices.

New laptops and smartphones, including the MacBook, Pixel phones, and Nintendo Switch Pro Controller.
